What is worth knowing here
- The Motor Vehicles Department runs an active enforcement and road-safety programme — expect thorough document checks.
- Narrow, continuously built-up roads: pedestrian priority, parking restrictions and horn discipline are the recurring themes.
The theory test
Most states run a short multiple-choice paper on a computer terminal — commonly 10 questions with 6 correct needed to pass, in about 10 minutes. Some states set a longer paper, and several now allow the test to be taken from home after an Aadhaar-based identity check.
